The Philadelphia Eagles have made a move in the middle of the season to acquire veteran cornerback Jaire Alexander from the Baltimore Ravens. The move sends Alexander and a 2027 seventh-round draft pick to Philadelphia in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.

Alexander, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, inked a one-year deal with Baltimore in the spring after spending seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers. His stint didn't last, though, as he appeared in only two games with five tackles. Compounded by persistent knee issues and depth in Baltimore's secondary, Alexander has been a healthy scratch most recently.

The Eagles, currently tied for the best record in the NFC at 6-2, are looking to reinforce their defensive backfield as they gear up for a playoff push. Alexander's arrival adds veteran experience and potential upside to a unit that has faced injuries and inconsistency. His familiarity with NFC offenses could prove valuable, particularly with a matchup looming in Week 10 against his former team, the Packers.

This trade comes after another recent move by the Eagles, who picked up cornerback Michael Carter II from the Jets. With these additions, Philadelphia is definitely focused on shoring up its secondary for the second half of the year.

Alexander has 292 tackles, 12 interceptions, and 12 tackles for loss in 80 career games. Healthy, he could provide a big boost to the Eagles' hopes of repeating as Super Bowl champions.
